This spring 2020 shou cha fits perfectly into our Puerh collection. Plucked from 200-400 year old trees, its perfectly balanced flavors of slightly dry raw cacao, damp bark and lingering minerality sit deep in the throat and belly. It has the ability to steep rich and deep while still maintaining a clear liquor. The small leaf grade is accented with bright red young leaves and is pressed into 100 gram cakes that are able to be broken up without the need for a pick. This tea creates a warmth and calmness that makes it ideal in the evening or any time you need to get grounded. We recommend this tea for everyone from Puerh novices looking for a smooth cup, to aficionados needing something flavorful but calming.

• Rich body, with deep, full flavor

• Steeps many, many times

• Brings a mellow feeling

• 10g tea per 8oz. water

• Rinse with boiling water

• Steep 15 seconds in boiling water

• Flash re-steep 5-6 times, then lengthen re-steeps until you’ve extracted all the flavor



*This tea is best prepared in a Yixing pot seasoned for Puerh

Use these recommendations for steeping in a western teapot, or when only 1 steep is desired.

• 5g tea per 10oz. water

• Rinse with boiling water

• Steep 3 minutes in boiling water

• Re-steep one more time for 3-5 minutes (if desired)
